歌舞伎座 木挽町通りでプロジェクションマッピングイベント開催決定！！

2026年3月27日（金）～4月5日（日）の10日間にわたり、木挽町通りの歌舞伎座“壁面”を活用するプロジェクションマッピングイベント「江戸裏道幻燈夜 Edo Hidden Street Projection ―歌舞伎座裏道まよい道―」を開催することが決定いたしました！

江戸時代、現在の東銀座駅周辺のエリアは、木挽き職人が集まるまち“木挽町”と呼ばれ、多様な文化が融合するまちとして大きな賑わいをみせていました。また江戸三座のひとつである森田座をはじめ、大小さまざまな芝居小屋も立ち並び、芝居まちとしても親しまれていました。

今回のプロジェクションマッピングでは、エリア内に位置する「松竹大谷図書館」の所蔵資料や錦絵、切り絵などを用いながらエリアの歴史や江戸時代から続く芝居文化の魅力などを表現し、子どもから大人、国内外の来街者まで幅広い層の方にお楽しみいただける構成で展開いたします。

なかでも、開幕からの3日間〈3月27日（金）～29日（日）〉は、歌舞伎座“壁面”2か所を活用した特大マッピングを限定投影。さらにこの投影に合わせ、銀座と築地の間に位置し、趣向を凝らした店舗や飲食が集まる東銀座ならではのマルシェやワークショップを集めた「江戸裏道マーケット」を同時開催！また、国外の来街者向けに着物等を着用した「“木挽町”探索ツアー」も開催いたします。

A night event featuring projection mapping along Kabukiza Theatre and Kobikicho-dori Ave.!

Higashiginza Area Management Association is pleased to announce the “Edo Hidden Street Projection: Wandering the Hidden Street of Kabukiza,” a 10-night event featuring projection mapping on the exterior walls of the Kabukiza Theatre. The event will take place from Friday, March 27 to Sunday, April 5, 2026, along Kobikicho-dori Ave.

During the Edo period, the area around present-day Higashiginza Station was known as “Kobikicho,” a bustling district where woodcutters gathered and various cultures merged. As a renowned theatre district, it was home to many playhouses, including Morita-za, one of the three main Edo theaters.

This projection mapping utilizes archival materials, nishiki-e (colored woodblock prints), and kirie (paper-cutting art) from the Shochiku Otani Library and others. And It’s designed to capture the history of the area and the enduring charm of theatre culture from the Edo period, offering an engaging experience for children, adults, and international visitors alike. Notably, for the first three days only (March 27–29), a massive double-wall projection mapping on the facade of Kabukiza Theatre!

In addition to the projection mapping, the following activities will be held:
•Edo Hidden Street Market (March 27–29)
: A 3-day limited market featuring workshops and stalls unique to Higashiginza—an area nestled between Ginza and Tsukiji known for its diverse shops and eateries.
•Kobikicho Walking Tour: A guided exploration of the area for international visitors, featuring traditional Kimono attire.
